In this episode, Detectives Goren and Eames investigate the case of a prison warden (Corbin Bernsen) attacked while delivering a ransom payment to secure the release of his wife, who was kidnapped years earlier. During the investigation, Goren and Eames learn the missing woman has been happily cohabitating with her abductor – a convict who escaped from incarceration 10 years before and took her with him. Finally, Goren investigates a different lead, one where the key to exposing the truth about the present depends on the warden's past.
This episode revealed many resemblances to the case of Bobbi Parker: a warden's wife kidnapped for ten years who was found living with her abductor, Randolph Dial, a convicted killer who escaped from an Oklahoma jail, taking Parker with him. [1]
